Goodness gracious!!!
My baby boy turned 4 months old this week! I can NOT believe how FAST the time has gone. It feels like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital - yet - I can't imagine life without him and it feels like he has been a part of life forever. Such contradictory feelings...
I finally finished my 1st scrapbook (of baby, of course!) today. In the past, I would not have considered myself a "scrapbooker"...I gravitated more towards card-making. Don't get me wrong - I have always LOVED the idea of scrapbooking, but really struggled with all the "little decisions" that scrapbooking required. Add to that the "committment" that scrapbooking requires...choosing pictures & using them all up. I have many albums started, but not finished - I was always too much of a perfectionist. However, the arrival of baby B has caused me to take about a gazillion more pictures than usual and has generated a desire to DO something with all of them. So, as a "baby-step" into the world of scrapbooking, I have decided to create a few "mini-albums". The first (completed today) features a few pictures from baby B's first month. It is a "waterfall" mini-album, and will be the style that I am offering in February's class! In keeping with my card-making style, it is really simple...I am all about the "clean lines". I am excited to start the next project - I plan to make a chipboard mini-album that features all of baby B's nicknames to date (he has many...)
This week did slip away on me...but I did manage to get my post completed at the final hour! Look for a post to follow with pictures of the first completed mini-album!!!
In the meantime, I am going to go cuddle up with a hot tea & watch the snow fall outside. I {heart} winter! For all those travelling - drive safe :) Happy weekend to all.

So far, so good!
The days sure are slipping by! I simply can not believe it is already the middle of January...where does time go? In just one more week my baby boy will be four months. I feel like I've just blinked and here we are.
The 2010 resolutions are coming along...I am doing great with the picture a day documentation - not really taking the time to play with my camera & settings as much as I'd like, but nontheless using it every day (think: baby steps!). I have stuck to my excercise plan almost exactly (shortchanged the resistance training this week by one session...will do better next week). Blogged - week 1 - check; blogged - week 2 - check (and hopefully another post tomorrow more "craft" related). Managing to cherish the little moments...the hugs & kisses, giggles & snuggles with my boy. I have spent a total of 2 hrs in the last weeks "crafting" - projects accomplished include baby cards for all the January arrivals & most of a mini scrapbook album that I hope to offer as a class before Valentine's (posts to follow). Still in progress...getting rid of my closet clutter (yup, I'm big time procrastinating on this one...clothes don't hold any interest to me right now at the weight I am). So...so far, so good! Bring it on, 2010 :)

Hello World!!
Well...here it goes...FINALLY! HELLO WORLD :)
I thought I would have all this "free" time on my hands after the birth of my son...after all, I was on maternity leave. Many friends before me told tales of spotless homes, multiple daily naps, endless adventures outside (you get the picture)...so naturally I assumed my maternity leave would be the PERFECT opportunity to expand upon many of my desired "resolutions" and craft, blog and photograph every experience!
Let's just state that my reality has been just a "little" different than my expectations!
I must say that I am blessed with a happy baby boy that sleeps very well at night (thank goodness...this tired momma = absolute tyrant and would probably end up divorced within a month, lol) but he finds sleeping through the day an absolute waste. Therefore I end up spending most of my days playing and feeding, playing and feeding, playing and feeding (I honestly did not understand just how much TIME feeding a baby takes out of a day, lol). I love him dearly & can not imagine life without him BUT motherhood has managed to almost completely vanish my "me-time" that would normally be spent on all that crafting, blogging & documentation of said experience!!!
Therefore, this blog is an attempt to gain back some of that which makes me a more well-rounded person. Here, expect to find snippets from my weekly life through pictures, ramblings & crafts.
I have spent the first 5 days of 2010 trying to cement my resolutions...but I think I have FINALLY narrowed them down. Here they are (for posterity):
1. Get in shape (lose weight, drink more water, excercise daily, eat balanced)
{sidenote: I gained over 50 lbs with pregnancy...and the weight did NOT just "disappear" with breastfeeding}
2. Take photography class
3. Undertake a project 365 (in order to better reflect upon & document life in 2010)
4. Post to blog weekly
5. Create one project (card/craft/scrapbook page) per week & hold at least 10 creative workshops in 2010
6. Have one date night with my husband per month
7. Read at least one book per month
8. Organize/get rid of clutter - 1 area per month
9. Budget spending on "extras" & stick to it!!!
10. CHERISH (this is my "onelittleword" of the year)...cherish motherhood and time spent with my son, family & friends!
I hope everyone has had time to reflect on their own lives and if you are the "resoultion-making" kind...have done so!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
