Master of Understatement!

I would like to introduce you to my husband...Mr. Master of Understatement.  I often ask why he married me...without hesitation the answer I always get is "cause you're a great cook". (...how romantic...no pressure or anything....lol) So - I always try my best to be a "great cook".  One night this month I asked husband to grab some potatoes from our potato bucket that I would add to the masterpiece-of-the evening (ie: supper).

This is what he brought to me...and accompanied that with a "You know, we really should eat potatoes more." Stated in a pretty matter-of-fact tone...cause that's just him.

My response: "Oh. Wow. You think?"
Needless to say...potato chowder found its way onto the menu a few short days later, lol.

Super Easy-Peasy Potato Chowder
about 8 cups diced potatoes (I leave the skin on = more fiber, but peel if you prefer)
chicken stock (to cover the diced potatoes)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 large chopped onion
ADD the four ingredients above to a slow-cooker...cook on low for about 8 hours or until potatoes are soft...then I like to stir to break up the potato pieces a bit...makes for a thicker soup (if you don't like chunky soup you may wish to puree the whole she-bang).
stir in one block of cream cheese, cubed, until well mixed
**OPTIONAL - add approximately 1/2 cup bacon bits and 1/2 cup chopped chives**
Enjoy :)

I love...

...this boy! 'Nuff said.

The Days...

Please excuse my igorance...I am determined to get some pictures up to make this blog a teensy-weensy bit (read: HUGELY) more interesting! However, I still do not have my hands on my photo-editing software and thus am trying some make do software...but I have absolutely NO idea how it works!! Because I tend to be a learn while getting my "hands dirty" kinda-girl as far as computers go, I'm going to give this photo the ol' college try and see what happens.  If it ends up all wonky, please accept my apologies....and if it turns out ok, well, let's just face my sheer brilliance (lol).

In case you didn't know, I married a "Day".  That makes us collectively "The Days" (duh)....(coincidentally, I am having a VERY fun time of coming up with a title for my Project 365...think...365 days of Days)...ok, ok, I digress....

Anyways - here is a multilayered frame I made awhile back when I wanted to play with my Circle Scissors Plus (by Stampin' Up!). Designer paper is mostly retired patterns, "Welcome" is one of the transfer rubons and our name is cut out using the Big Shot and an alphabet set die (may I admit I am entirely too lazy at this moment to get up, go look at the frame, come back and type what exact alphabet I used).  The frame is really cool - picked it up at Hobby Lobby.

Wowzas! What a lot of talking for one *measly* little picture?! Can you tell I didn't get out of the house today?

Cheers...& happy weekend my blog-friends :)

Ooops!

Skipped a week...oops! The days are simply flying by WAY too fast!

Today was a good day in our household...baby B went down seamlessly for TWO naps (never before has this happened, lol), tried out a new recipe for supper (yum! Cajun Meatloaf - credit on this goes to Pioneer Woman....let me just say -- YOU ROCK!!!), baked a few goodies (that I am going to promptly give away, haha) and watched the Heidi Swapp webcast! A well-rounded day, indeed.

As soon as I get my photo-editing program up & running, I will be adding some of my POTD(part of the Project 365 I am undergoing this year) and crafty photos added to this blog! After all, a picture is worth a thousand words :)

Craftiness has dramatically decreased lately due to "decreasing my daily expectations" of what I can accomplish (and unfortunately, crafting has pretty much been bumped to the bottom of the priority list) but will hopefully find a way back after my trip to Texas!

Hope everyone out there in blog-land has also had a great day!
Later, gators :)
